Whenever I needed to clear my mind, I would either go for a run or take my husky dog for a nice, long walk. Arrowhead Lake is a private, gated community which provides plenty of roads for such activities. No matter the weather, the pleasant scenery is enough for a mental reset. In the summer, I would throw on a pair of shorts, a T-shirt, and some running shoes and would go for a 3-6 mile run/jog around the smaller of the two lakes within Arrowhead. In the winter, I would layer up. I would wear my snow pants, a thermal shirt, a hoody, a shell jacket, a hat or bandana, shoes or boots, and gloves. Once suited up, I would attach the harness to my dog and then we began our 6-8 mile walk. The lead attached to his harness was roughly 15 yards in length allowing him to “shark” all over the roads and surrounding woods to sniff out anything interesting. We had many adventures together throughout Arrowhead Lake in the low, blanket ceilings of snow, in the warm rains of spring, warm and breezy summer days and nights, and cool, comfortable, colorful fall evenings.
